Watkins Insurance Group is the largest privately-owned independent insurance agency in Central Texas, founded in 1949 as R.B. Lewis Agency. The agency became Lewis-Watkins-Farmer Agency in 1965, with David Watkins becoming sole owner in 1985 and his son Patrick Watkins taking over as president in 2002. Now with 100+ employees across four Texas locations — Austin, Georgetown, Marble Falls, and Waco — and membership in the elite Assurex Global partnership of independent brokerages, Watkins provides tailored insurance, employee benefits, bond solutions, and risk management for businesses and individuals of all sizes. Also holds a Surplus Lines license for specialty and hard-to-place risks.
